More on Mwanawasa

The AP had a good article about his death up pretty quickly Tuesday, which detailed some of his virtuies as President and African leader.

"Widely regarded as a man of integrity, he won praise for breaking the traditional silence of African leaders to criticize his autocratic neighbor, Zimbabwe's Robert Mugabe, which encouraged a few other African presidents to show their displeasure...At home and abroad, Mwanawasa won praise for fighting corruption and modernizing Zambia's economy."

UPDATE: The Economist also has a good editorial/obit as well (hat tip: Charlie).
