Random photos

Can't claim credit, they were all taken by others, but they give a good sense of where I've spent some of my time in Lusaka:

This is the Chancery, or the main office building at the embassy. My office is behind this building.

This is the "Shima Shack," or the snack bar on the embassy grounds. Options are limited, but the food is made with love. I get a tolerable cup of coffee here each morning for a bit over a buck (4,000k) as well. This is also basically the view from the door to my office, which opens outside. Once it gets warmer, I plan on leaving it open all day. Ahhhhh....

This is Melissa, a grocery store about 1/3 mile from my house. It's not as good as the Spar grocery stores here, but it's convenient.

The last 2 are of the Manda Hills shopping center, one of the 2 largest in the city. I prefer the other (Arcades), which has a movie theater, couple good restaurants, good coffee, grocery store, and a weekend craft fair. These are better photos, they both look similar and Manda has good stuff too (except no movies or craft fair).

Cool photos! At first I was thinking that naming a grocery store Melissa was weird, then I remembered Winn-Dixie, Publix, Big Y...
